Natural lighting is a vital element to change the atmosphere of a space. It creates a stronger relationship with the environment through harmonising a space, which has a significant impact on residents’ comfort, health and mood. To stop spaces becoming dark and unwelcoming, incorporating as much natural light as possible, is key. In model A the interiors’ connection with natural light is enabled by the large window and skylight, increasing mood. The continuity of spaces seen in model B, minimises division between environment and the house, which was gradually achieved by maximising interactions with the interior and natural light.
